All five Fighting Scots finished within five strokes of each other, and The College of Wooster men's golf team sits in fifth-place at the midpoint of the rain-shortened North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, which is being contested this weekend at the par-72, 6,910-yard Westbrook Country Club in Mansfield, Ohio.
Wooster's 309 has the Scots within striking distance of several of Div. III's top teams, including fourth-ranked Wittenberg University, which is in fourth-place at 302. Ohio Wesleyan University leads the eight-team field at 291, while Allegheny College is lurking four strokes back.
Juniors Evan Ferrara and Jimmy Hinton are both tied for 12th-place after turning in 76s on Saturday's scorecards. Classmate Evan Jenkins shot a 78 and is tied for 23rd-place, while sophomore David Roney's 79 puts him in a tie for 26th-place.
Senior Andrew DeLaat is the final Scot in this week's lineup, and he fired an 80.
Worth noting Wooster's fifth-place showing is two spots above where the Scots were forecasted in the pre-championship coaches poll.
The NCAC Championships conclude on Sunday with 18 more holes set to be played.
