The College of Wooster men's golf team returned to the links for a competitive round for the first time since October 6, 2019 on Saturday afternoon, as the Fighting Scots hosted Denison University at the Wooster Country Club. The Big Red won 307-323, while Denison's Will Grady captured medalist honors with a 3-over-par 75.

First-year Tyler Hilbert and senior David Roney led the Scots with 79s. Hilbert's collegiate career got off to a roaring start, as the intended business economics major carded birdies on his first two collegiate holes. Roney's senior year also started strong, as the communication sciences and disorders and psychology double major made the turn at 1-under-par, thanks to back-to-back birdies on holes six and seven.

Junior Ben Foltz was right behind with an 80, and he also had a strong showing on the front nine. Foltz birded hole eight and then carded a par on the ninth hole to make the turn at even-par.

First-years Jacob Ullom and David Dennis rounded out the lineup. Ullom logged an 85 in his collegiate debut, while Dennis had a 90.

With seven individuals, Wooster had an official "B" team at the event. John Varley led that group with an 82, while Connor Mitchell fired an 83.

Wooster's back in action on March 27. The Scots are set to take on Denison and Wittenberg University at Denison Golf Club in Granville, Ohio.
