No. 20 OWU Shuts Down Wooster in Second Half En Route to 13-3 Decision

Within striking distance of a nationally-ranked opponent at halftime for the second time in four days, The College of Wooster was unable to sustain its play during the second half and lost, this time to by a final of 13-3 to No. 20 Ohio WesleyanOhio Wesleyan University in the teams' North Coast Athletic Conference opener Saturday at Delaware, Ohio.

Wooster (2-4, 0-1 NCAC) scored two goals within the opening 4:20 to grab an early lead, only to see Ohio Wesleyan (3-2, 1-0 NCAC) run off three scores in a row, including a short-handed goal that seemed to turn the tide. Eric Johnson of the Fighting Scots would strike next to pull within one (4-3), and it was a 5-3 margin at the halftime break.

Unfortunately for Wooster, it was all Battling Bishops during the third and fourth quarters, as the hosts netted eight unanswered goals.

In addition to Johnson's tally, Pat Coyne and Alex Mies each recorded one goal and one assist on the afternoon for the Scots, while goalkeeper Corey McGann was solid with a season-high 13 saves.

Chaz Narwicz was the difference maker, pumping in five goals for Ohio Wesleyan.

Wooster's challenging stretch continues next Saturday, when it welcomes No. 7 DenisonDenison University (4-0, 0-0 NCAC) to John P. Papp Stadium for a night game, starting at 7 p.m.
