Following a competitive first half of action, Randolph-Macon College strung together a six-goal scoring run after the break and ultimately defeated The College of Wooster 14-7 Sunday afternoon in a men's lacrosse match-up at Ashland, Va.

The Scots (3-2) beat the 'keeper twice in the early goings of the game, as Tom Herold scored on an assist from Pat Henderson, and Max Rubin won a face-off and drove the field for quick shot and goal, but the Yellow Jackets (4-2) led 5-2 after the first period, and by as much as 7-2 midway through the second period.

With 8:59 remaining in the half, Matt Ranck delivered a goal off of a feed from Dean Marchitelli to put Wooster back on the board, and shortly after, PJ Dallman and Henderson each added scores to cut the deficit to 7-5. Randolph-Macon snapped the Scots' mini-run with a goal, but Herold pumped in his second of the half to keep Wooster within two (8-6) at the break.

The second half was much more one-sided, as the Yellow Jackets only allowed the Scots to record four total shot attempts while steadily pulling away offensively. Randolph-Macon scored six goals in a row during the third and fourth periods, until Evan Albertson ended Wooster's draught with a late score.

On the day, Rubin went 15-for-25 on face-offs and picked up a game-high nine groundballs. Herold paced the Scots offensively with two goals, while Henderson recorded his two points via a goal and an assist.

Goalkeeper Matt Magoon made 13 saves in the setback.

The Scots will wrap up their four-game road trip with a visit to Roanoke College Wednesday at 7 p.m.
