The Scots (6-8, 1-3 NCAC) trailed 5-4 early in the third quarter, and the scored stayed that way for nearly 10 minutes until Ranck rifled in his second goal with 2:02 remaining in the stanza to knot the game at 5-5.

Then, about four minutes into the fourth quarter, Ranck took a feed from Evan Albertson and beat the 'keeper to put the Scots up by one (6-5) with 11:06 to go in regulation.

Finally, Wittenberg scored its first goal in over 23 minutes of action, as Andrew Morrison completed his hat trick with a game-tying tally at the 3:00 mark. The Tigers then proceeded to win the ensuing face-off, and after a short possession, Jack Bornhofen pumped in the game-winner.
