For the second time this season, but just the sixth in program history, The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team shutout an opponent as the Fighting Scots rolled past Hiram College 21-0 on Sunday afternoon in Hiram, Ohio.

The game had twice been postponed, including four days ago due to lightning.

Wooster (8-4, 3-2 NCAC) scored just 48 seconds into play on a Tom Herold goal, assisted by Patrick Schlick, and never looked back. The Scots added three more scores before six minutes had elapsed, and it was 6-0 by the end of the first quarter.

The remainder of the contest against Hiram (1-9, 1-4 NCAC), a first-year program, played out similarly, with Wooster tallying four goals in the second, six in the third, and five in the fourth.

Herold finished with three goals and one assist, and Steve Crozier matched his four-point outing via one goal and three assists. Matt Ranck and Trevor Shoemaker both produced hat tricks, while Schlick and Jack Crawley had matching lines of two goals and one assist.

Defensively, the Scots limited the Terriers to just 12 shots. Three different 'keepers saw time during the shutout, with Ben Grombala tallying four saves during the second half.

On Wednesday night, Wooster will host Kenyon College (7-6, 3-2 NCAC) in a match-up that will likely have a significant impact on seeding for the NCAC Tournament.
