Junior Josh Herold turned in another big Saturday to help lead The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team to a 25-7 win over host Hiram College at Henry Field in Hiram, Ohio.

Herold, who tied Wooster's (7-2, 2-0 North Coast Athletic Conference) single-game program record with a 12-point outing last Saturday at Wabash College, distributed six assists and scored a hat trick against the Terriers (1-6, 0-2 NCAC) to bring his two-game conference totals to an astounding 14 assists and seven goals.

Wooster, who had a pair of 9-0 runs in the contest, really pressed the pace late in the first period.

Hiram's Sawyer Lott turned aside the first three shot attempts from Wooster on the afternoon, but Nate Weltman fired one past the Terriers 'keeper with 7:08 remaining in the first period for the contest's first score. Less than 30 seconds later, Weltman connected a second time, this time off the assist from Herold. Just a shade under a minute later, the duo flipped roles to put the Scots up 3-0.

Wooster's lighting quick attack continued at the end of the stanza with Ian Brim pumping in his 12th tally of the season with 40 ticks left, a score that was quickly followed up by Herold with six seconds remaining to make it a 6-1 contest.

Matt Parmelee and Alexander Bloom needed just 19 seconds between scores in the second period to push the Scots' advantage to seven with 13:45 left in the half. Pat McKay capped the first 9-0 run of the game with 1:45 left in the half, a stretch that saw six different Scots find the scoring column.

McKay jump-started the 9-0 second-half run with a pair of goals in a span of 17 seconds, as six Scots were in on the latter scoring barrage. Of note, Will Noel netted his first collegiate goal to cap the run with 14:15 remaining in the fourth-period.

Bloom and McKay led the Scots with four goals each, while six other Scots, including Herold, scored at least two goals.

Wooster finished with a 43-31 advantage on groundballs. The Scots' long-stick midfielders led the way individually with Jack Gilio and Brooks Kiley scooping up eight each. Additionally, Gilio and Dan Gorzynski added three caused turnovers in the game.

The Scots goalkeepers finished with 15 saves on the afternoon with Aaron Levy (seven saves) and Tyler LaCroix (eight saves) each playing a half.

Hiram was paced by Nick Rollason's four goals.

Wooster remains on the road for an 8 p.m. tilt at Otterbein University (3-4) on Wednesday, prior to opening a four-game homestand on Friday.
