Nate Weltman from The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team played a key role in the Fighting Scots' prime-time win over Oberlin College on Friday night, and the senior midfielder was tabbed as the North Coast Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Weltman, who matched his career-best with four goals against the Yeomen, really heated up in the third period. The senior book-ended both ends of a 4-0 run, including ripping one in with 24 seconds left in the stanza that put Wooster up 14-9.

Earlier in the contest, Weltman was set up by Josh Herold – the NCAC leader in assists and points – for his first score of the contest with 11:05 remaining in the first half. Later, Weltman connected on an unassisted tally that was part of a 5-0 clip spanning the second and third periods.

Weltman also had a goal in Wooster's midweek tilt at Otterbein University.

He is the first men's lacrosse player to earn NCAC Player-of-the-Week honors since Tom Herold on March 24, 2014.

Wooster (8-3, 3-0 NCAC) hosts Kenyon College (7-2, 2-1 NCAC) in a big NCAC matchup at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
