First-year Shaun Peirce's monster contributions during The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team's 24-13 win over Hiram College turned heads at the national level to the point where the Fighting Scots' rookie earned a spot on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Team-of-the-Week, as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Peirce, who was named the North Coast Athletic Conference's Athlete-of-the-Week on Monday, had a hand in 10 of Wooster's 24 goals on Saturday, including the first four in the final period. Peirce passed out two of his four assists to start the final stanza, and followed that up with Wooster's next two goals.

Earlier in the game, the first-year secured his hat trick just before halftime with his third goal coming with five seconds left in the second period.

For the week, Peirce finished with seven goals and six assists, thanks to a one-goal, two-assist showing in Wooster's mid-week tilt at Saint John Fisher College.

Peirce, and his Wooster (6-3, 2-0 NCAC) teammates, are back in action against Oberlin College (5-3, 0-2 NCAC) on Friday in an 8 p.m. prime time tilt at John P. Papp Stadium.
