The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association invited seniors Jack Gilio and Sam Kuhn of The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team to join its Division III roster for the 77th annual USILA/Nike North-South All-Star Game, which is scheduled to take place Friday, May 25th at 5:30 p.m. at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium on the campus of Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island.

Gilio, a four-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference honoree and native of New Canaan, Conn., finished second in program history in career groundballs (271) as a long-stick midfielder and ended the 2018 season with 64 groundballs and a co-team-high 22 groundballs. Gilio is the only Fighting Scot student-athlete to hold three top-10 single-season groundball totals, highlighted by a career-high 89 groundballs in 2016.

Kuhn returned to the all-NCAC squad this year as a first-team attacker, marking his second career selection on the yearly conference team and his first nod among the top tier. In 2018, Kuhn turned in career-highs in goals (41) and points (56) to go along with 15 assists, matching his career-best mark set back in 2017. Kuhn's 41 goals marked the seventh-highest season total in program history, and the Towson, Md. native ended his career as only the seventh Scot to reach 100 career goals (104).

This year's invitations mark a career first for Gilio and Kuhn, who will both compete for the South team. Jason Archbell of Bowdoin College will coach the Div. III North team, while Curtis Gilbert of Berry College will coach the Div. III South squad. Additionally, Gilio and Kuhn are just the sixth and seventh Scots to be named to the annual All-Star game, marking just the second time in program history in which two or more Wooster student-athletes were invited in the same year. The program's last invite occurred back in 2010 when senior USILA All-American Pat Coyne participated for the North team.

As a yearly event spanning nearly eight decades, the All-Star game - a storied tradition in college lacrosse - commences a lacrosse-filled Memorial Day weekend in the northeast, which includes the NCAA Div. III Men's Lacrosse Championship hosted at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on Sunday, March 27.
