Sophomore attacker Shaun Peirce was an unstoppable force last week for The College of Wooster men's lacrosse team, and on Tuesday, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association selected him for its Team of the Week.

Peirce's career-high eight goals during Wooster's 19-7 win over Wabash College on Saturday were one shy of Tom Bennett's single-game program record set against Dickinson College in 1992. Wooster players have scored eight or more goals just four times in program history, and Peirce as the first Fighting Scot to do so since Colin Hartnett against Washington & Jefferson College in 2002.

For the week, Peirce tallied 13 goals, with his other five coming during Thursday's 17-11 win over Whittier College, during which the Scots handed the Poets their second loss of the season.

This is Peirce's second time earning a spot on the USILA Team of the Week.

Peirce, and his Wooster (5-8, 3-1 NCAC) teammates, have a tall order up next, as No. 13 Denison University (10-2, 4-0 North Coast Athletic Conference) is in town for a 7 p.m. clash on Wednesday.
