Wooster Names Neisler Interim Head Coach of Men’s Lacrosse

Dylan Neisler, College of Wooster Lacrosse WOOSTER, Ohio — The College of Wooster announced it has named Dylan Neisler interim head coach of men's lacrosse for the remainder of the 2022 spring season, effective immediately, following the resignation of P.J. Kavanagh as head coach Monday. The search for a permanent head coach for men's lacrosse will begin later this spring.

Neisler is in his second year with the Fighting Scots, serving as assistant coach and offensive coordinator for the program, and most recently, as acting head coach. Prior to joining Wooster, Neisler served as defensive coach and recruiting coordinator for the inaugural season of men's lacrosse at SUNY New Paltz. He spent extensive time as a youth travel lacrosse coach as well as graduate assistant coach at Concordia University Ann Arbor for one season.

"We are grateful to Coach Neisler for leading the team during the past month and for agreeing to take on this interim role through the 2022 spring season," said Athletic Director Amy Heasley Williams. "I know Coach Neisler shares our desire to provide the best possible experience on and off the field for members of our men's lacrosse team during this period of transition."

During his playing days, Neisler was a four-year starter at Lincoln Memorial University, an NCAA Division II program where he scored 72 goals and dished out 31 assists. He posted three 20-goal seasons and was a key contributor in helping LMU launch its men's lacrosse program. He helped the program to a 14-4 ledger as a senior.

Neisler majored in exercise science at LMU, and he recently completed his master's in sports and entertainment business at Concordia.

Williams said the Athletic Department appreciates the leadership and contributions of outgoing head coach, P.J. Kavanagh, during his time on campus. "Coach Kavanagh is an energetic leader who, over the last seven years, has made impressive strides in promoting success for Wooster men's lacrosse in the classroom and on the field," she said.
