Holtzer's Caused Turnovers Help Land Junior NCAC Honor

College of Wooster men's lacrosse junior defender Bill Holtzer was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week on Tuesday morning for games played March 25-31.

Holtzer helped Wooster to a dominant 16-6 win over Wittenberg University on Saturday, a game in which the Fighting Scots buried the Tigers 15-3 through three quarters. The defender logged six groundballs and three caused turnovers in the win and helped anchor a defense that allowed just 16 shots over the first 45 minutes.

Wooster has won the NCAC Defensive Player of the Week honor for men's lacrosse both weeks it has been awarded this spring. The honor started with the beginning of conference play. All-American Casey Steffen was the first recipient of the conference honor.

Wooster (8-3, 2-0 NCAC) travels to Hiram College (4-5, 0-2 NCAC) for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday, April 6.
