Holtzer Debuts on USILA Team of the Week

Bill Holtzer, Wooster Lacrosse The College of Wooster's Bill Holtzer earned another award for his stellar play in the Fighting Scots' men's lacrosse team's 16-6 win at Wittenberg University on Saturday. The junior defender made his debut appearance on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Team of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Holtzer was responsible for six of Wooster's 51 groundballs and three of the 13 caused turnovers in the program's first win over Wittenberg since 2019. Holtzer's defensive play helped hold the Tigers to a 17-of-25 mark on clear attempts, and Wooster currently ranks first nationally in opponent clearing percentage (.643). Additionally, the Scots are in the top seven nationally in groundballs (463) and caused turnovers per game (14.09) through games played April 1.

Earlier in the day, Holtzer was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Wooster (8-3, 2-0 North Coast Athletic Conference) returns to action at Hiram College (4-5, 0-2 NCAC) at noon on Saturday, April 6.
