The College of Wooster and Earlham College played an extremely closely-contested game, and ultimately it was the Fighting Scots' advantage in earning corner kicks (7-3) that made the difference as a well-placed corner into the box late in the first overtime ricocheted off a defender and into the net, allowing the visitors to earn a 1-0 victory in a non-conference men's soccer tilt Sunday at Richmond, Ind.

Wooster (1-3) goalkeeper Aaron McKee made two of his game-high seven saves in the overtime period, including one at the 97:04 mark that allowed the Scots to gain possession. About a minute later, they earned their seventh corner kick, and CJ Polak, who took all seven on the day, put this one in front of the net that ultimately decided the game.

Ironically, a Polak corner kick almost ended the game in regulation as well, as he set up an Adam Hansell header that sailed just over the crossbar in the final ticks of the second half.

Overall, the Scots took 13 shots on the day, compared to Earlham's 14, including three from Polak, and two apiece from Patrick Pickering, George Skelly, and Noah Wagemann.

Matthew Canter started the game in goal, pitching a shutout in the first half, and then McKee subbed in and played the rest of the way.

The Scots will look to make it two in a row when they visit John Carroll University on Thursday at 7 p.m.
