WOOSTER, Ohio – Sheamus Dalton of The College of Wooster scored a dramatic goal in the 88th minute to force overtime, and the Fighting Scots played Capital University to a 1-1 draw during non-conference men's soccer action Saturday night on Andrew Turf Field at John P. Papp Stadium.

Trailing 1-0 and with limited offensive opportunities throughout, Wooster (1-4-1) suddenly evened the scoreboard. The goal started with a long throw-in by Patrick Pickering as the high-arcing pass bounded into the center of the box, then to the left side where Dalton took it waist-high, side-kicking it in to the upper left.

The score, in terms of its theatrics, was reminiscent of Dalton's overtime game-winner against John Carroll University last season, also a thrilling finish under the lights at Papp Stadium.

Shortly after, Dalton tied Saturday night's affair, Capital (3-3-1) nearly went back ahead, glancing a shot off the crossbar with about a minute remaining in regulation.

The best scoring chance in overtime came when the Crusaders' Tim McCarthy briefly had a breakaway, but Scot 'keeper Aaron McKee charged out and made a sliding stop, nearly at the same moment McCarthy attempted the shot. That occurred late in the second extra session, effectively securing the tie.

Capital's goal came off the foot of Nick Eley in the 39th minute when he took advantage of a Wooster defensive miscue.

McKee played the second half and both overtimes, tallying four saves without surrendering a goal, while Bob Weisgarber made four stops for the Crusaders over the 110 minutes.

Next, the Scots play host to Marietta College (3-4) on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
