WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster men's soccer team capped its four-game homestand with another closely-contested game, but this time was on the short end as Muskingum University edged the Fighting Scots 2-1 with the game-winner coming in the 84th minute under the lights Saturday night at John P. Papp Stadium.

Wooster (3-2-1), which scored a pair of one-goal wins and tied previously during the homestand, fell behind 1-0 about 15 minutes into Saturday's action on a goal by Trent Newberry of Muskingum (3-1), but the Scots evened it up shortly thereafter. In the 23rd minute, Mouhamet Ndiaye found Matt Parmelee, who squeezed between a couple of defenders and slotted the ball past the 'keeper to the upper right.

Right before halftime, Wooster nearly took the lead. CJ Polak sent a well-placed free kick into the box and Zachary Mastrich put a head on it, but the Muskies' goalie was there for the save.

It remained 1-1 deep into the second half. The Scots were a bit unlucky on the go-ahead score, as their freshman goalkeeper Alex Molinari collided with Muskingum's Logan Lazar when a high-bouncing ball came into the box. Lazar was able to keep his feet, then pushed the ball into the empty next with 6:58 left.

Wooster recorded its sixth shot and third corner kick of the second half during a final push, but to no avail.

The Scots will be at Capital University (2-2) on Wednesday afternoon.
