The College of Wooster ran into a red-hot Ohio Wesleyan University squad and fared no better than the Battling Bishops' recent foes, as the Fighting Scots fell 7-0 during North Coast Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night at the Jay Martin Soccer Complex in Delaware, Ohio.

Since settling for a tie in its conference opener, Ohio Wesleyan (10-2-2, 3-0-1 NCAC), ranked No. 5 in this week's NCAA Div. III Great Lakes coaches' poll, has now ran off four-straight wins by a combined score of 21-0.

Wooster (2-10-1, 0-4-0 NCAC) stayed with the Bishops early. It was scoreless through 20 minutes and only one of seven shots was on goal, saved by the Scots' Daniel Quinn.

Ohio Wesleyan broke through, though, in the 23rd minute via a Kyle Baum unassisted tally, and about five minutes later, Baum assisted on a second score by Ricardo Balmaceda.

The game started to get away from Wooster, when the Bishops connected with just 1:34 remaining in the first half and again 3:00 into the second, as it was suddenly 4-0.

The Scots almost got on the scoreboard during the 86th minute. Zachary Mastrich sent a shot past the Ohio Wesleyan 'keeper, but it was cleared away by a defender to preserve the shutout.

Kieffer Hessler also forced the Bishops into a save earlier in the second half, while on the other end, Quinn was credited with seven saves for the match.

Wooster's challenging schedule continues with a visit from No. 19 ranked DePauw University (9-1-2, 4-0-0 NCAC) on Saturday at noon.
