The College of Wooster men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to formerly-ranked DePauw University on Saturday afternoon at Reavis Stadium in Greencastle, Ind.
The Fighting Scots (4-9-1, 1-4-0 North Coast Athletic Conference) were held to eight shots on the day.
DePauw (8-3-2, 3-1 NCAC) took an early lead as Zach Hoffman penetrated the backline before maneuvering around Wooster goalkeeper Scot Stacho for the game-winning goal in the third minute.
Julian Gonzalez made it a 2-0 Tigers' lead with an unassisted strike in the ninth minute.
Sophomore Alex Montalbano came inches from bringing the Scots to within one after rising up and connecting on a cross from sophomore Austin Russell, but the header clanged off the crossbar before being cleared from danger.
DePauw's Justin Mitchell finished on a pass from Hoffman in the 28th minute to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead heading into the break.
Each of the Scots' eight shots on the day was recorded by a different player.
DePauw made it a 4-0 lead in the 51st minute as Jonathan Wheeler netted his third goal of the season off the assist from Peter White.
Just five minutes later, Gonzalez made it a brace after converting on a rebound off a previous saved shot from teammate Taras Tataryn.
Gonzalez leads the NCAC with 11 goals on the year.
Wooster first-year 'keeper Will Collis stepped in for Stacho in the 63rd minute for his sixth appearance of the season, as neither team managed a goal during the game's final third.
Eight of DePauw's 17 shots came on target. Of Wooster's eight shots, one came on frame.
The Scots return home on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. clash with Denison University (4-6-2, 1-2-1 NCAC) at Carl Dale Field.
