Meadville, Pa. – The College of Wooster men's soccer team kept rolling Tuesday with a 3-1 victory over Allegheny College in North Coast Athletic Conference play.

It was Wooster's fourth straight victory as they bumped their record to 8-6-2 overall and 4-3-1 in the NCAC. More so, they jumped one spot to fifth place in the NCAC standings with just one game remaining on the schedule.

On Tuesday, Allegheny (6-9-2, 2-4-2) came out aggressive to start, collecting two corner kicks and two shots in the first seven minutes. However, Wooster made its first scoring attempt count when junior Manny Burton scored off an assist from classmate Max Rochester to give the Scots a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute.

Not satisfied with a one goal advantage heading into halftime, Andreas Xenofontos scored in the 36th minute with a perfectly placed ball thanks to an assist from Burton. Despite Allegheny outshooting the Scots 6-5 in the half, Wooster led 2-0 after the first 45 minutes.

Wooster kept at Allegheny in the second half. In the 71st minute, Rochester recorded his second assist when his corner kick to the far post found Alex Montalbano, who headed in his first goal of the season.

Allegheny's lone goal came nine minutes later when Jorge Olan created an opportunity for himself and scored from about 20 yards out.

Goalkeeper Will Collis made six saves in the rain to collect his eighth win in net. Allegheny outshot the Scots 15-8 and held the corner advantage 9-7.

Wooster will close out the regular season Saturday when they host Wabash College (12-3-2, 5-2-1) at noon. If Wooster wins they make the NCAC Tournament. They can also get in with a tie and a Denison University loss on Saturday.
