The College of Wooster took five of six singles matches and added a dominant doubles win as well to drop John Carroll University 6-3 on Friday evening in non-conference action at the Paramount Tennis Club in Medina, Ohio.

The Fighting Scots (2-3) were competitive in doubles play, with narrow losses at No. 1 (8-5) and No. 2 (8-6), but the team of Jack Buchan and Davis Elkins blew by their No. 3 opponents 8-0 to draw Wooster within one heading into singles action.

That was when Wooster pulled away, as the Scots won their matches from the second-spot through the sixth on their way to a strong 6-3 triumph.

The most decisive win came from Milo Saurman at No. 3, as he let up just one point in a 6-1, 6-0 victory. No. 5 Buchan and No. 6 Paul Thomas were nearly as dominant, as they each won by 6-1, 6-1 tallies, while Harrison Suttle (6-4, 6-4) and Jacob Pine (6-4, 7-5) battled to edge out their opponents in closely-contested matches at the No. 2 and No. 4 spots, respectively.

Wooster will now get set for its annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C., where it will play five matches over a stretch of nine days, with its first match slated for March 10.
