The College of Wooster men's tennis team rolled past Wittenberg University, highlighted by a doubles sweep and a comeback at the No. 1 singles position, as the Fighting Scots prevailed 8-1 over their rival Friday inside the Scot Center at Wooster, Ohio.

Wooster (9-6) made a little history when Titas Bera and Jack Buchan served out a 9-7 victory at first doubles, having earned the match's only break in the 15th game. That completed a doubles sweep for the Scots, their first against an opponent from within the North Coast Athletic Conference since the 2009 NCAC Tournament. Earning decisive wins were the combinations of Harrison Suttle-Willy Nelson and Davis Elkins-Erik Lindberg at No. 2 (8-3) and No. 3 (8-1), respectively.

Nelson and Buchan went on to quickly clinch the match, as the former cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 win at third singles and the latter yielded just two games during a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at the fourth spot.

Wooster tacked on three more team points, including at the top of the singles lineup, where Bera, ranked No. 18 in the NCAA Div. III Central Region, bounced back from dropping the initial set for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory. The Scots showcased their depth advantage, with Milo Saurman beating his opponent 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 and Vilius Sulnis posting a double bagel (6-0, 6-0) at No. 6.

Next up for the Scots will be a trip to 11th-ranked Kenyon College (10-5) on April 13.
