The College of Wooster was very competitive at several positions during its match Monday at Kenyon College, but the Lords, ranked No. 9 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, ultimately swept the Fighting Scots 9-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference East Division action at Gambier, Ohio.

The match began outside, then the majority of matches were moved inside to the Jasper Tennis Center due to high winds.

Wooster (9-7, 0-2 NCAC East) nearly scored a point at No. 6 singles, where Milo Saurman won the first set, then dropped a very tight match, 6-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6). Jacob Pine and Jack Buchan also pushed their opponents in the middle of the lineup, as Pine fell in a 7-6, 6-2 decision at the third position and Buchan's final score line was 7-5, 6-0 at the fourth spot.

Saurman and partner Davis Elkins extended their No. 3 doubles match to 8-4.

The Scots will wrap up their NCAC divisional matches by hosting Allegheny College (8-7, 0-1 NCAC East) on Friday at 4 p.m.
