Recent graduate Jack Buchan and rising senior Titas Bera garnered Scholar-Athlete recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for their respective performances in the classroom this season, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

This year's announcement marks Buchan's third career honor while Bera nabbed his second, both having been recipients most recently in 2015.

Regarding individual accomplishments, the Fighting Scots are coming off a banner year. Buchan and classmate Davis Elkins entered the program's record books before season's close as the winningest doubles team in program history, surpassing the previous mark of 40 before settling with 44.

On the singles court, Bera became the first Scot since 2003 to be named North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Year. The junior out of North Potomac, Md. ended the year as the highest regionally-ranked singles player among NCAC East teams, finishing as the 12th-ranked player in the ITA's Central Region.

ITA Scholar-Athletes are those individuals who achieved at least a 3.50 GPA for the academic year and were a varsity letterwinner for the season.
