Bera Notches 100th Career Win, Earns Fourth Career NCAC Player of the Week Nod

Titas Bera

Senior Titas Bera battled through some adversity before achieving a perfect 4-0 record over the weekend en route to his fourth career North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor.

In the Fighting Scots' opener on Sunday against Carthage College, Bera rebounded from 5-1 down in the third set against 2017 NCAA Div. III Singles Championships qualifier Herman Abban to win 2-6, 6-4, 7-5, and level the team score at 4-all before teammate Jorrit de Rouw clinched the 5-4 team victory with a win at No. 6 singles.

Earlier in the day in doubles action, Bera and partner Jesse DeWitt won 9-7 in the No. 2 spot.

Against Concordia University (Wis.) later that afternoon, Bera and DeWitt won 9-8 (2) at No. 2 doubles - saving off five match points in the process - to make way for Bera's 100th career combined victory after a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.
