Scots Capture Three Spots on All-NCAC Teams, Hasenyager Named Coach of the Year

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Three players from The College of Wooster men's tennis team recently earned All-NCAC honors while coach Zachary Hasenyager was named Men's Tennis Coach of the Year.

Joaquin Abos Amo was named All-NCAC second team singles, and Alon Liberman was an honorable mention. Liberman also claimed an honorable mention in doubles with teammate Austin Hanna.

Abos Amo finished 8-16 this season playing primarily in the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions. The sophomore was 1-2 in conference play.

Abos Amo played the final 10 matches of the season in the No. 1 spot, which concluded with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win over Jack Hibbard of Ohio Wesleyan University in the NCAC Tournament.

Liberman had a stellar first year going 15-5 in singles play and 11-12 in doubles action. He played in the 2-5 singles positions throughout the year which included a 6-3 mark in the No. 2 spot.

Hanna went 16-9 in doubles play on the year. Hanna and Liberman combined for a 3-1 record when they played together as the duo ended the year winning both their No. 1 doubles matchups in the NCAC Tournament.

This was each of the trio's first selection to an all-conference team.

Hasenyager coached the Scots to an 8-13 record and a 1-2 record in the NCAC East. They ended the year winning the fifth place match over Ohio Wesleyan in the NCAC Tournament.

Hasenyager is in fifth year at the helm of the Scots, and this is his first coach of the year accolade from the conference.
