The College of Wooster men's tennis team collected a North Coast Athletic Conference East Division win on Saturday by defeating Allegheny College 8-1.
Wooster started the match with a clean sweep of the doubles flights.
The No. 1 team of Alon Liberman and Austin Hanna won 8-3, as did the No. 2 team of Alex Drewes and Nebyou Minassie by the same score. The No. 3 team of Shivam Dewan and Patrick Johnson had a tougher go of it but came out on top 8-7 (2).
In singles play, Liberman, ranked 13th in the region, fell behind in the No. 1 flight but fought back for a 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (6) win over Anton Hedlund.
Hanna had to fight back as well in the No. 2 flight, winning 6-7 (7), 7-5, 1-0 (5).
Dewan could not amount a similar comeback in the No. 5 flight, falling 7-6 (5), 5-7, 1-0 (6).
Drewes and Minassie won in straight sets at the No. 3 and No. 4 flights, respectively. Drewes won 6-4, 6-1, and Minassie won 6-3, 6-1.
Finally, Johnson won at the No. 6 flight 6-3, 6-2.
Wooster moves to 9-6 overall and 1-1 in divisional play. They wrap up division play Sunday when they host Oberlin College, who is ranked 15th regionally.
