Scots Trade 8-1 Matches to Conclude Spring Break

The College of Wooster men's tennis team was on the right end and the wrong end of 8-1 affairs as they wrapped up its spring break trip in Hilton Head Island, S.C.

The men had an easy go of it against St. Ambrose University with its only loss coming in the No. 2 doubles flight. In the other flights, Arnav Yadav and Anthony VanOyen teamed for an 8-0 win in the No. 1 flight, while Shivam Dewan and Max Stratford won 8-0 in the No. 3 slot.

Jay Dixit got the win in the No. 1 singles flight, 6-2, 6-4, while VanOyen took care of his competition in the No. 2 flight, 6-1, 6-4.

Yadav at No. 3 and Max Stratford at No. 6 each won 6-2, 6-2. Dewan won 6-0, 6-4 in the No. 4 flight, and Namit Misra glided through the No. 5 flight, 6-0, 6-0.

Finally, on Monday the Scots fell to 38th-ranked Grinnell College. Wooster's lone win came from Dewan who took a 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (6) win.

When the Scots return home, they will open North Coast Athletic Conference play against Denison University on March 29.
