Men Fall to Tigers to Conclude Indiana Trip

GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The College of Wooster men's tennis team lost 6-3 at DePauw University in North Coast Athletic Conference play on Sunday.

The Fighting Scots picked up wins in three singles matches, including at the No. 1 and 2 slots. Jay Dixit recorded a 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (5) win at No. 1, while Anthony VanOyen rallied back to earn a 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (6) win at No. 2. 

Wooster also got a win at No. 4 from Shivam Dewan, 7-6 (3), 4-6, 1-0 (6). 

In other singles action, Arnav Yadav lost a hard-fought 6-4, 6-2 decision at No. 3. At No. 6, Bennett Dickerson fell 6-1, 6-1. 

The host Tigers swept all three doubles matches. At No. 1, Yadav and VanOyen were defeated 8-4, while at No. 2 Dixit and Namit Misra also lost 8-4. Dewan and Max Stratford fell 8-2 at No. 3. 

Wooster slips to 6-8 overall, including 0-3 in the NCAC, while DePauw improves to 9-6 and 2-0 in the league with its fifth straight win.

The Fighting Scots return home on Thursday to host Oberlin at 4 p.m.
