WOOSTER, Ohio – Senior Maddy Chase of The College of Wooster softball team was named North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, per a league announcement on Monday evening.

The Pleasant Prairie, Wis. native went 1-1 with one save in three appearances last week, including a complete game shutout in Wooster's 5-0 win over Bowdoin College (March 19). In 16 innings of work, the senior standout allowed two earned runs and struck out 12 en route to a 1.12 ERA, with opponents holding on to a .262 batting average.

Chase's two-inning save, which came in Wooster's (7-9) 3-1 win over Manchester University (March 22), marked the third of her career, as she now stands tied with alumna Trish Gordon ('03) for the all-time program record.

The weekly conference honor marks the second career nod for the 2017 NCAC Player of the Year.
