WOOSTER, Ohio – Senior Maddy Chase of The College of Wooster softball team posted a .632 batting average on 9-of-13 hitting and a .733 on-base percentage en route to North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors, per an announcement from the league office Monday evening.

Chase, who has twice been named NCAC Pitcher of the Week, garnered Player of the Week accolades for the first career time after helping lead the Fighting Scots to a 2-2 record, including a series sweep over Oberlin College last Tuesday.

Chase combined for 5-for-7 with three doubles against the Yeowomen to move into third all-time in career hits before ending the week at 143, just six behind alumna Demi Hart ('15) and 23 hits behind fellow 2015 graduate Paige Goldberg's top mark of 166. Additionally, Chase went a combined 4-for-6 in a pair of 2-1 losses against Denison University on Friday.

With four doubles on the week, Chase increased her season total to 16 to tie the single-season program record, and with 36 career doubles, the standout senior remains just four shy of becoming the all-time program leader.
