Senior Salute: Kaydee Clark

Kaydee Clark Q&A Throughout the spring semester, we are honoring our senior student-athletes with a "Senior Salute" series. Today's featured senior is Kaydee Clark, a biochemistry and molecular biology major from Medina, Ohio. Clark is a member of the softball team.

Q: Why did you choose to attend The College of Wooster?
A: I chose to attend The College of Wooster because of the students and staff I met on my visit and the people on the softball team.

Q: What does being a Fighting Scot student-athlete mean to you?
A: Being a Fighting Scot student-athlete means working your hardest in every aspect of your life.

Q: What are some of your favorite memories as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: My favorite memories include doing spontaneous activities with friends like going to get food or tagging along to go to the store.

Q: What is the best part about being a student-athlete at The College of Wooster?
A: The best part about being a student-athlete here is the community that forms around you.

Q: What else were you involved with on campus besides your sport?
A: I am involved in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Club, work in the equipment room, and work game operations for home varsity athletic contests.

Q: Which College of Wooster faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
A: This is hard to answer, but I would have to say Paige Summers. As my boss and one of my coaches, Paige impacts many different aspects of my life and knows how to make things fun.

Q: What other people or resources impacted your Wooster experience in a positive way and how did these people and resources set you up to be successful at Wooster?
A: Coach Victoria Rumph has also impacted me significantly. She constantly pushes me to be my best and continuously shows her support and love.

Q: Tell us a bit about your Independent Study project?
A: My Independent Study is on a mosquito called Aedes japonicus. I am working towards obtaining and sequencing the species' DNA to be able to compare the sequences to look for certain patterns.

Q: Tell us a bit about something cool you did as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: One of the coolest things we did as a team during my time at Wooster was beating DePauw University in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament

Q: Reflecting back on your time at Wooster, what advice would you give your first-year self?
A: I would tell myself to relax and take it all in. Also, to utilize my resources and try to learn as much as I can.
