First-year Morgan Day headlined The College of Wooster swimming and diving teams' contingent at the non-scoring Kenyon College Fast Chance Invitational on Saturday at Gambier, Ohio.

Day, the lone competitor on the one-meter board, recorded her second NCAA Div. III diving standard with an 11-dive score of 399.75 points, 4.75 points better than the 395-point NCAA cut. The score made Day eligible for next weekend's regional competition at Denison University. In the process of Saturday's performance, Day improved upon her third-highest 11-dive score in program history on the one-meter board.

Day earned her first NCAA Div. III score standard during the Wooster Invitational back in December, tallying 397.40 points. Divers are required to earn two NCAA Div. III standard scores during the competition season, or earn a qualifying score at their conference's championship meet, to advance to the regional competition.

Senior Sarah Litt made a splash in the pool turning in a NCAA Div. III "B" cut time of 2:06.60 in the 200 butterfly. The time pushed her past sophomore Maggie Layde for the third-fastest in the program annals. Layde, who also competed in the 200 fly, turned in a 2:08.34.

Layde also hit the wall at 59.14 in the 100 fly.
