Women Win Easily as Scots Split Dual Meet

The College of Wooster swimming and diving teams split a dual meet with Westminster College on Saturday with the women taking a 202-92 win and the men falling 172.5-125.5.

For the women, the 200-yard medley relay got things off on the right track as the team of Hannah Langer, Molly Likins, Leah Jorn and Brooke Brown won with a time of 1:53.36.

Langer also won the 100 back in 1:01.81 and the 200 back in 2:12.56. Likins won the 100 breast in 1:10.14 and the 200 breast in 2:33.47.

Senior Emma Fikse swam to a time of 11:07.78 to take the 1000 free. She also won the 50 free in 25.63, while Brown finished in second at 25.83.

Fiske also came in first in the 100 free with a time of 56.06.

Junior Nell Kacmarek won the 200 free in 2:03.81 and the 500 free in 5:29.65.

Anne Bowers won the 200 fly in 2:18.56 and later the 100 fly in 1:01.27.

Madison Whitman won the 400 IM in 4:58.09.

The 200 free relay squad of Fikse, Likins, Brown an Kate Murphy took first in 1:43.62 to cap the day for the women.

On the men's side, senior Cameron Gelwicks won the 1000 free in 10:15.98 and the 50 free in 22.63.  He swam a 4:54.91 to take the 500 free as well.

Burke Poeting was right behind in second in the 50 free at 22.75.

Junior Trey Schopen took the 200 fly in 2:00.11 and the 100 fly in 52.74.

Poeting, Gelwicks, Schopen and Ryan Campbell then won the 200 free relay in 1:28.22.

The teams will travel to Oberlin College next Saturday to face Oberlin and Wittenberg University in NCAC matchups.
