Madison Whitman swims during prelims Friday. She placed a pair of top-ten school record times.

GRANVILLE, Ohio – The College of Wooster swimming and diving teams ended day three of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships with new school records, a "B" cut time, All-NCAC recognition and a second place relay finish that was the Scots' first since 2003.

The women's 200 medley was that relay team. After breaking the school record in the prelims, the team of Hannah Langer, Molly Likins, Kalla Sturonas & Brooke Brown shed two more seconds and earned All-NCAC honors with a second place finish and a school record time of 1:45.86.

Likins did something similar in the 100 breaststroke, breaking her own school record in the prelims and doing it once more in the finals. She posted a "B" cut with a time of 1:04.64, which placed her fifth.

Madison Whitman also had a couple of solid swims. In the 400 IM, she placed eighth with the seventh fastest time in program history at 4:39.62. Later, Whitman's 11th place showing in the "B" final of the 100 breast in 1:06.72 was the fifth fastest time at Wooster.

The women placed three more in the "A" finals. Sturonas took eighth in the 100 fly with a time of 58.52, and Emma Fikse placed ninth in the 200 free in 1:55.21. Kate Murphy swam to ninth in the 100 back with a time of 59.18.

On the men's side, the 200 medley relay team of Trey Schopen, Burke Poeting, Garrett Layde and Ryan Campbell placed sixth in the "A" final with a time of 1:34.62.

In the 400 IM, Josh Gluck placed 11th in 4:12.83, which was the third-fastest time at Wooster. Layde followed in 12th with a time of 4:15.98.

A pair of Scots competed in the "A" final of the 200 free as Cameron Gelwicks took seventh in 1:40.79, and Campbell finished ninth with a time of 1:44.44.

Schopen placed eighth in the 100 back with a time of 51.85. He also placed 13th in the fly at 50.35

Craig Klumpp was the highest placed Scot in the 100 breast at 16th with a time of 59.99.

The men conclude day three in fifth with 577 points. The women sit fourth with 720, looking to catch third-place DePauw University, who has 794.5 points. Denison University leads the men's (1,276 points) and women's (1,317 points) standings.

The NCAC Championships conclude tomorrow. Prelims begin at 9:30 a.m. and finals begin at 6 p.m.
