Noah Golovan, Wooster swimming & diving The College of Wooster's Noah Golovan is among the 21 male winter student-athletes selected to receive a one-time, non-renewable $10,000 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. Golovan's selection marks the first for a men's swimming & diving Fighting Scot, while it is the College's 28th all-time scholarship, 14 of which have come since the start of the 2017-18 academic year.

"This is a tremendous honor for Noah," said Rob Harrington, Wooster's head swimming & diving coach. "The NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship validates all of Noah's hard work and effort at The College of Wooster and speaks to the type of person he is, his priorities, and his legacy. Our team, extended family, and alumni are very proud of him."

"I am so grateful to receive such a prestigious honor and represent the Fighting Scots," shared Golovan. "This scholarship would not have been possible without my amazing Wooster swimming & diving teammates, the direction of coaches Rob Harrington and Kyle Garase, the support of our faculty athletic representatives Dr. Drew Pasteur and Dr. Shelley Judge, and Interim Association Vice President of Student Affairs Ashley Reid and Dr. Lee McBride III, who graciously supported my application with letters of recommendation. This scholarship will go a long way in supporting my legal education at The Ohio State University."

The standout breaststroker and individual medley specialist helped Wooster to its first top-three North Coast Athletic Conference finish in two decades as a senior. He qualified for his first individual championship final at NCAA Div. III's preeminent meet in 2023. There, the alumnus placed ninth in the 100 individual medley, touching at 53.84. On relays, Golovan was a four-time conference scorer and helped the 200 (1:35.79) and 400 medley relays (3:30.75) to Timken Natatorium records at the Wooster End of Season Meet that capped the abbreviated 2020-21 season. Golovan's 58.40 in the 100 breaststroke from his junior year was the second-fastest time in program history. Golovan's name appears on the program's top-10 times board for the 100 individual medley (53.84, fourth), 100 breaststroke (58.40, fourth), 200 breaststroke (2:10.69, fifth), and 400 individual medley (4:15.03, ninth).

The student leader on campus was highly vested in the College's student government, serving as Scot Council president for the 2022-23 academic year. As president of the student body, Golovan coordinated and chaired meetings between members of the College's Board of Trustees and student body each semester, led general assembly and executive committee student government meetings, and met regularly with the College's senior leadership team. Golovan was one of two students chosen for the search committee which selected Anne E. McCall as the 13th president of the College.

Golovan was a class representative prior to his election as Scot Council president. He worked in Admissions as a senior intern, was a teaching assistant, and was a team representative to the College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The former legal intern at Westfield Insurance Group served Dave Joyce's campaign as an intern and was a judicial intern at Stow Municipal Court.
