Women's 800 Free Relay Takes All-NCAC Honors After Day One

After day one of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Denison University, The College of Wooster swimming and diving team claimed one All-NCAC honor as the women sit in third and the men fourth.

Ollie BreamEmma HumbertEmma Connors and Kate Peck swam an 8:02.17 for third place in the 800 free relay to earn the lone All-NCAC honors for the Scots on Wednesday.

This is the second time Bream and Connors have teamed for All-NCAC honors after getting third together in the same event in 2022. It's Bream's fifth All-NCAC certificate all-time, Connors's second and the first for the sophomore Humbert and the first-year Peck.

In the other relay of the night, the women went fourth in the 200-medley relay as Maddie BeckerIzzy Bellefleur, Bream and Hallie Findlan swam to a time of 1:46.60. The could not reach the third place time of 1:45.26 from DePauw to claim another All-NCAC certificate.

For the men, Wooster finished fourth in the 800-yard free relay. Josh PearsonRyan GrossWill Laubacher and Callum Glover swam to a time of 6:56.32.

The men's 200 medley relay team placed fifth with a time of 1:34.95 behind the team of Will LaymonBoston Sullivan, Pearson and Gross.

In the 3-meter diving, first-year Noah McDonald (317.95) and sophomore Leo Edmonds-Doberenz (307.65) placed fifth and sixth, respectively. 

The men scored 169 points as Wabash College led day one with 230. The women scored 118 points, tied with DePauw and behind the leading Big Red with 132 points.

Day two of the NCAC Championships kicks off with prelims at 9:30 am on Thursday.
