Behind a series of strong performances by its relays, including the 4x400-meter team re-setting its school record set earlier this season, The College of Wooster women's track & field team placed 15th at the All-Ohio Div. III Track & Field Championships, hosted by Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio on Saturday. Wooster sent just a few of its members on the men's team and they finished in 18th.

The Fighting Scots had three scoring relays on the day, with the distance medley team of Ann Berkow, Ashley Huddson, Hilary Coady, and Lauren Buyan finishing the highest as their time of 12:49.18 was good for fifth-place among a crowded field.

Huddson, Buyan, and Coady were also part of the 4x400 relay. Along with Edith Anderson, they covered the 1600 meters in 4:09.65 – about a second and one-half faster than their previous best (4:11.13) – and crossed sixth out of the best in the Buckeye State.

Anderson was joined by Paris Nahas, Tricia Hall, and Kara Johnson in the 4x200 relay, which earned seventh-place in 1:49.64.

Individually, Anderson took fifth in the 400 meters (1:00.22), Amy French notched eighth-place in the triple jump (32 feet, 11.75 inches), and Nahas trimmed her school record in the 60 meters set just last weekend by one-hundredth of a second, lowering it to 8.29 seconds during the prelims.

In the men's competition, Wooster's scorers were Mark Stair, who tied for second in the high jump (6 feet, 4.25 inches), and Matt Margida, a sixth-place thrower in the shot put (48 feet).

The Scots will send a full complement of athletes to the Kenyon Classic next Saturday in their final preparation for the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships.
