The College of Wooster track & field team's annual Wooster Invitational was shortened due to Saturday's harsh weather, but the Fighting Scots still had enough time to combine for four event wins against some strong competition, including two NCAA Div. II schools, at Carl Munson Track.

Most of the field events, which started during cold, but dry conditions were contested, but only four track races for each gender took place as a steady rain turned into snow in the afternoon.

All of Wooster's wins came on the track, with Ben Kingstone overcoming the conditions and sprinting to first-place of 12 entrants in the 100 meters with an 11.58 time and Jairaj Ranchod crossing first out of 13 in the 800 meters in 2:05.78.

Roy Hadfield gave the Scots two of the top-three finishers in the 800, placing third (2:08.87), and Keir Pace complemented Kingstone via a fourth-place effort in the 100 (11.81), while other runs of note during the men's meet included Gabe Abud's third-place in the 1500 meters (4:21.00), followed by Blake Pecoraro in fourth (4:26.15), and Tarik Welch's fourth in the 400 (55.53).

In the field, Matt Margida and Mamoudou N'Diaye recorded matching third-places in the shot put (45 feet, 7 inches) and long jump (19 feet), respectively, and Tyler Catlin added a fifth-place effort in the hammer throw (121 feet, 11 inches).

Wooster's headliners on the women's side were Paris Nahas, who beat 12 others in the 100 meters with a time of 13.23, and Christina Haupt, who topped a 23-member field in the 1500 meters via a 5:08.70 time. Nahas crossed just ahead of third-place teammate Kennedy Payne (13.35), while Haupt's time was nearly three seconds faster than her nearest competitor.

Leading the way in the field were Danielle Besancon's runner-up performance in the pole vault (8 feet, 6.25 inches) and Katie Cameron's third-place in the long jump (15 feet, 0.5 inches), while other top-five finishers consisted of Gabriella Gilfoy and Ashley Huddson, fourth (2:55.60) and fifth (2:55.82) in the 800 meters, respectively, and Camille Schwartz, who was fifth in the pole vault (8 feet, 0.5 inches).

Next weekend, the Scots will be hoping for better weather when they'll be at the Oberlin Invitational. Also a couple of representatives are expected to be at the decathlon/heptathlon portion of the All-Ohio Championships.
