The College of Wooster's men's and women's track and field teams put on a solid display at Oberlin College's Bob Kahn Invitational, which did not have team scoring this year, as the Fighting Scots combined for 17 top-3 finishes on Saturday at Oberlin, Ohio.

The women had a pair of first-place finishers, as Kristina Reck won the pole vault event with 9 feet, 6.25 inches and Lauren Buyan crossed the finish line first in the 3000 meter steeplechase in a time of 12:26.46.

There were several other high points for the women's team, including the efforts of Paris Nahas, who took second along with teammates Kara Johnson, Kennedy Payne, and Edith Anderson in the 4x100 relay (50.61), while individually, she placed third in a field of 18 in the 100 meters (12.74) and fifth of 20 in the 200 meters (26.49).

Also notable, Amy French was second in the high jump (4 feet, 7.75 inches), Devin Johns was second in the javelin throw (92 feet, 8 inches), Jocelyn Lion was third in the 400 hurdles (1:08.83), and Anderson came in fourth of 15 in the 400 meters (1:00.97).

Over on the men's side, John Lanz and Roy Hadfield were individual winners, with Lanz victorious in the 400 meters (52.27) and Hadfield in the 3000 meter steeplechase (10:39.98). Mark Stair nearly pulled out a triumph in the high jump as well, but settled for second with a jump of 6 feet, 6 inches.

Rounding out the men's top performers were Conor Maley, who was third in the long jump (19 feet, 1.5 inches) Matt Margida, who placed third in the shot put (44 feet), David Brew took fifth out of 19 in the 800 meters (1:59.49), and distance runners Luke Hutchings-Goetz (15:51.42), Morgan Clark (15:55.59), Joe David (16:10.92), and Karl Stemen (16:14.37) came in fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively, out of a group of 17 in the 5000 meter run.
