Nahas, Obi Named NCAC Athletes of the Week

The College of Wooster's women's track and field team delivered a decisive 95-47 victory over Oberlin College inside the Scot Center on Friday, and junior Paris Nahas (sprints/hurdles) and newcomer Elizabeth Obi (field) were both named North Coast Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week for their efforts in the season-opening win, the league office announced Monday.

Nahas' signature moment came in the 60 meters, when she bested eight other competitors in 8.13 to recapture the school record in the event. She also won the 300 meters in 45.87, and led off the winning 4x200 relay (1:51.27).

Obi was impressive in her Fighting Scot debut, as she won the triple jump (32 feet, 7.75 inches) and placed second in the high jump, clearing the bar at 4 feet, 10.5 inches.

Wooster will host two more meets over the next two weeks, with the NCAC Quad this Saturday and the Fighting Scots Invitational the following weekend (Jan. 31).
