The College of Wooster had several standouts at the All-Ohio Div. III Track and Field Championships, including Fighting Scot men Matt Margida and Derrick Marshall, and Hilary Coady on the women's side, all whom earned all-Ohio honors at the annual outdoor meet between the best programs in the Buckeye State, which took place Saturday on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University.

Margida and Marshall propelled Wooster's men's team to 13th-place. In the shot put, Margida recorded a heave of 47 feet, 4.50 inches, which netted him third-place in the event, while distance runner Marshall picked up third in his signature event, the 10,000 meters, with a time of 32:35.98.

Fellow runner Joe David also competed in the 10,000 meters, where he added to Wooster's point total with an eighth-place showing (33:17.47). Finally, Blake Pecoraro was strong on the track as well, as he crossed the finish line fifth of 28 competitors in the 5,000 meters in 15:14.71.

Multi-event standout Coady was instrumental in the women's 10th-place effort, as she claimed all-Ohio distinction in not one, but two events. Coady placed second among 25 in the 400 hurdles with a 1:02.54, and she also came in third in the 100 hurdles in 14.91.

Nearly joining Coady as all-Ohio was sprinter Paris Nahas, who was fourth in both the 100 meters (12.67) and 200 meters (25.84). Nahas also teamed with Coady, Ashley Huddson, and Lauren Buyan in relay action, where they, too, just missed all-Ohio recognition with a fourth-place finish in 4:02.65.

The next best result on the women's side came from Elizabeth Obi, as the first-year garnered fifth-place in the triple jump (34 feet, 4.75 inches) – which was less than two feet away from a top-three placement.

Others adding to the team score were Buyan with a solid seventh-place effort in the 3,000 steeplechase (11:43.58), as well as eighth-place from Nahas, Heidi Strike, Taryn Szalay, and Kennedy Payne in the 4x100 relay in 51.08.

Wooster will take part in the Kenyon Invitational next Saturday.
