 Julia Higgins
 Emani Kelley

Five members of The College of Wooster women's track & field team were accorded all-region honors by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their performances during the indoor track & field season, as announced by the organization on Monday. Wooster's honorees were Hilary Coady, Julia Higgins, Emani Kelley, Paris Nahas, and Carolyn Webster.

Nahas was the most decorated student-athlete of the quintet earning three all-region certificates. Nahas improved on her school-record time in the 200 meters during Friday's preliminary heat at the NCAC Championships where she turned in a 25.87. Then on Saturday, Nahas broke the 22-year-old school record in the 400 meters that was set by W Association Hall of Famer, and All-American, Claire Roberts at the 1994 NCAA Div. III Indoor Championships. Nahas record time of 58.47 earned her first-place honors at the conference championships.

Coady also earned multiple certificates, including an individual citation for the pentathlon. The senior multi-eventer improved on her school-record score, upping the total to 3,581points. Her score currently ranks third nationally in Div. III.

Coady and Nahas earned their other certificate in the 4x400 relay. The seniors teamed up with Higgins and Kelley to earn runner-up honors at the NCAC Championships with a school-record clip of 4:02.16.

Webster earned her certificate in the high jump. This season, the first-year sensation matched Wooster's indoor school record by clearing 5 feet, 6 inches at the Kenyon College Classic on Feb. 20.

To qualify for USTFCCCA all-region honors, student-athletes must rank in the top-five for an individual event, or the top-three in a relay event in their region.

Coady and Webster continue their indoor season this weekend as the duo earned invitations to the NCAA Div. III Championship meet at Grinnell, Iowa.
