The College of Wooster men's and women's track & field teams got some competition in this weekend before an unseasonably blast of winter weather is expected to hit, as Saturday's Bob Kahn Invitational, hosted by Oberlin College, turned into a Friday quad among Ashland University, Grove City College, Oberlin, and Wooster. It was not a team-scored meet.

The Fighting Scots recorded a number of noteworthy individual performances, led by double winners Paris Nahas and Carolyn Webster on the women's side. Nahas finished ahead of 12 other competitors in both the 200 meters and 400 meters, sprinting to the line in 26.91 and 1:00.88, while Webster outleaped the field in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 3.75 inches, and in the long jump, reaching a career-best 18 feet, 1 inch.

The versatile Hilary Coady backed them up in a couple of those events, as she hit third in the long jump (16 feet, 9.25 inches) and ran third in the 200 (27.39). Additionally, she won the 100-meter hurdles (15.82) and was the anchor of the winning 4x400 relay (4:10.35), which also consisted of Emani Kelley, Julia Higgins, and Nahas.

Shar Hankerson had a breakthrough meet, earning runner-up honors out of 10 participants in the triple jump (34 feet, 2 inches), narrowly ahead of third-place teammate Elizabeth Obi (33 feet, 9.5 inches).

Two other notable top-three performances were Kelley's third-place run in the 400 meters (1:02.84) and Mackenzie Kellar's third-place pole vault (9 feet, 6.25 inches).

In men's action, Wooster registered three event wins. On the track, Antonio Bailey sprinted ahead of nine others to victory in the 100 meters (11.67), and in the field, Jarrett Art led a group of nine in the long jump while notching a career-best 20 feet, 10.5 inches and John Petrecca was first in the high jump (5 feet, 10.75 inches).

Runner-up showings consisted of Brian Lief in the 5000 meters (15:52.52) and Zach Towner in the triple jump (40 feet, 7.5 inches), while a couple of freshmen had breakout performances in the long sprints as Justin Fox led a close pack of Wooster runners in taking third overall of 14 in the 200 (24.49) and Myles Parker was third of 10 in the 400 (53.64).

Conor Maley contributed a third-place in the javelin with a career-long throw of 135 feet, 6 inches.

Next, the Scots' top competitors will be at the All-Ohio Championships on April 16.
