 Hilary Coady

Senior Hilary Coady turned in the third-highest heptathlon score in Div. III this season, and upped her school record to 4,796 points, while finishing second at the multi-event portion of the North Coast Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Oberlin College this weekend.

Coady had a strong start to the event leading the field to the line with a season-best 14.85 in the 100-meter hurdles. Then, Coady led the field in the high jump, topping out at 5 feet, 3 inches, and matching a season-best in the process.

Coady placed second in the shot put with a heave of 34 feet, 11 inches, but it was there that rival Aedin Brennan from Denison University passed up the Fighting Scots' senior en route to first-place honors.

Coady concluded Saturday's portion of the multi-event meet with a season-best 26.30 in the 200 meters.

Then, on Sunday, the multi-eventer logged a career-best 800 meters time (2:19.19) to lead the field in the final event of the competition. Earlier in the day, Coady turned in a long jump of 16 feet, 6 inches, and a javelin toss of 94 feet, 5 inches.

Coady and the rest of her Scot teammates head to Denison for the NCAC Outdoor Championships, held May 6-7 at Granville, Ohio.
