Senior Hilary Coady won the 400-meter hurdles for the third straight year as The College of Wooster track & field teams accumulated 10 All-North Coast Athletic Conference certificates and set two school records on the second day of the 2016 NCAC Outdoor Championships held at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.

Wooster's women finished fifth with 78 points, while the men placed eighth with 33 points.

Coady, who re-set the 400 hurdles' meet record with a 1:01.43 in Friday's preliminaries, lowered her time even more, and broke the 61-second mark for the first time of her career with a winning clip of 1:00.86 on Saturday. Coady's time was 1.41 seconds ahead of rival Aedin Brennan from Denison.

Coady added three additional all-conference certificates on Saturday, and also scored in the long jump. First, she tied for third in the high jump, upping her career-best to 5 feet, 5.25 inches in the process. Next, she just missed all-conference laurels in the long jump with a fourth-place jump, reaching 17 feet, 4.25 inches. Then, the senior crossed third in the 100-meter hurdles, coming in at 14.78.

Finally, the senior standout teamed up with Julia Higgins, Emani Kelley, and Paris Nahas to cap the meet with a second-place clip of 3:56.78 in the 4x400 relay, breaking the 31-year-old school record in the process.

Notable, Coady finished her career with 19 All-NCAC certificates, a total tied for fourth in program history.

Nahas also stood out in the running events picking up all-conference laurels in the 400 meters with a second-place time of 57.88. Later, Nahas crossed at 25.50 in the 200 meters to take fourth.

Freshman Carolyn Webster backed Coady up in the jumps. In fact, Coady and Webster shared third-place honors in the high jump with Webster bumping her outdoor-best up to 5 feet, 5.25 inches. Webster later added a sixth-place finish in the long jump (17 feet, 1.5 inches).

Other notable performances were turned in on the women's side in Mackenzie Kellar's eighth-place showing in the 1500 meters (4:54.50), Taryn Szalay's eight-place outing in the 100-meter hurdles (16.31), and Savannah Moore's school record in the hammer (127 feet, 1 inch).

In the relays, the Fighting Scots had a fifth-place effort from Nahas, Szalay, Kennedy Payne, and Erika Womack (50.08).

Wooster's senior throwers led the way on the men's side. In the shot put, Matt Margida rose to the occasion with a career-best toss of 50 feet, 3.5 inches, good for second-place honors and his fifth-career all-conference certificate. Earlier in the day, Tyler Catlin earned all-conference laurels in the hammer with a third-place heave of 158 feet, 9 inches.

On the track freshmen Jacob Denbeaux and Brian Lief both earned all-conference certificates via third-place times. Denbeaux crossed at 4:00.93 in the 1500 meters, while Lief turned in a 1:55.31 clip in the 800 meters.

Wooster's 4x100 relay consisting of Myles Parker, Justin Fox, Cody Park, and Tarik Welch placed seventh coming in at 46.48 to round out the scoring.

Ohio Wesleyan University won both team titles with 210 points in the men's standings and 179 points on the women's side.
