Coady to Cap Collegiate Career in the Heptathlon at This Week's NCAA Championships

 Hilary Coady

Senior Hilary Coady, a two-time All-American from The College of Wooster track & field team, will compete in the heptathlon at this week's NCAA Div. III Track & Field Championships, taking place on the campus of Wartburg College at Waverly, Iowa.

Coady, seeded third in the event via a school-record 4,796-point outing at the North Coast Athletic Conference multi-events championship, will compete on Thursday and Friday. The 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, and 200 meters begin at 11 a.m. Central Daylight Time on Thursday with the long jump, javelin, and 800 meters to start at noon Central Daylight Time on Friday.

Overall, this is Coady's fifth appearance at the national championships. The senior standout is coming off of a third-place showing in the pentathlon at the 2016 indoor championships, an outing that saw Coady earn the second indoor All-American certificate in program history.

Last spring, Coady capped her junior year with a seventh-place time of 1:02.15 in the 400-meter hurdles for her first career All-American certificate.

Coady previously competed in the pentathlon at the 2015 indoor championships, and the heptathlon and the 400 hurdles at the 2014 outdoor national meet.
