WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster track and field program hosted Ohio Wesleyan University and Kenyon College at the Scot Center as part of the Wooster Tri-Meet, with Ohio Wesleyan winning both the men's and women's sides, followed by Wooster in second-place and Kenyon in third. On the men's side, the Battling Bishops tallied 139 points, while Wooster finished with 89 and Kenyon with 55. In the women's meet, Ohio Wesleyan won with 152 points, followed by Wooster at 103 and Kenyon at 34.

In the women's action, first-year Summer Robinson claimed first-place in the triple jump – an event that saw the Fighting Scots claim the top-three tries  – with a winning jump of 33 feet, .25 inches, while Elizabeth Obi (32 feet, 3.5 inches) claimed second-place and Crane marking the third-longest jump (30 feet, 10.5 inches).

Coming through in scoring roles in the weight throw were senior Paige Fabry, who threw a third-place throw of 39 feet, 9.25 inches, while sophomore Kassady Murphy followed right behind in fourth (31 feet, 1.75 inches).

Sophomore Carolyn Webster led a Wooster duo in the high jump with a third-place finish (4 feet, 11 inches), followed by Obi's fifth-place try of 4 feet, 6.75 inches. In the long jump, Webster finished in fourth-place (15 feet, 8.25 inches).

The women's distance medley relay team of juniors Ashley Ferguson, Mackenzie Kellar, sophomore Emani Kelley and senior Jackie White claimed third-place with a final time of 13:53.67. Commencing the distance events for the Scots was senior Emily Reid, who finished third in the 3,000 meters with a time of 11:47.99.

Wooster's 4x200 meter relay finished in second-place, as the quartet of seniors Dyese Osaze and Taryn Szalay along with first-years Regan Szalay and Korri Palmer came in with a time of 1:51.85. Regan Szalay highlighted Wooster's effort in the 400-meter dash, taking second-place (1:03.38) and just .19 seconds back of first-place honors.

In the 4x400, the team of Kelley, Regan Szalay, Koral Kasnyik and Julia Higgins finished first with a time of 4:27.05.

Highlighting the men's side were first-place finishes from sophomores Jack Petrecca and Jacob Denbeaux and first-year Spencer Wilson. In the high jump, Petrecca out-bid the nearest competitor by 7.5 inches with a winning leap of 6 feet, 4.25 inches, while in the weight throw, Wilson won the event with a throw of 38 feet, 8.25 inches. In the 3000 meters, Denbeaux put in a meet-best 9:33.75, nearly 18 seconds ahead of the next-closest finisher.

In the pole vault, junior Jacob Nowell finished in second-place (10 feet, 11.75 inches), while teammates Conor Maley (18 feet, 9.25 inches) and Tom Helsel (17 feet, 5.25 inches) garnered third- and fourth-place points in the long jump.

Wooster's men's distance medley relay team, consisting of sophomores Jackson Feinknopf, Cullen King and Simon Weyer along with senior Roy Hadfield finished in second-place with a time of 11:27.71.

In the mile, sophomore Brian Lief (4:34.84) and senior Blake Pecoraro (4:43.63) came in third- and fourth-place respectively, while sophomore Jordan Dennis garnered third-place points in the 60-meter hurdles, just breaking the 10-second barrier with a time of 9.97.

The Scots return to action in the Fighting Scots Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Scot Center on The College of Wooster campus, with field events beginning at 12 p.m. followed by track events at 2:30 p.m.
