Carolyn Webster

Sophomore Carolyn Webster of The College of Wooster women's track and field team was awarded All-Region honors by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for her milestone performance in the women's pentathlon, according to an announcement from the organization's front office on Monday morning.

Webster made program history during the 2017 North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Championships by becoming the first Fighting Scot student-athlete to be crowned the conference's pentathlon champion, as the sophomore multi-event standout finished in second-place or better in four of the five events, including winning leaps in the high jump (5 feet, 3.75 inches) and long jump (16 feet, 7.75 inches) en route to 3,098 points.

In addition, Webster earned all-NCAC honors in the individual high jump with a third-place try of 5 feet, 5 inches, as well as placing fourth in the long jump (17 feet, 5.75 inches) and sixth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.63). Webster scored a meet-high 24 individual points, earning her the title of Top Points Scorer on the women's side.

To qualify for USTFCCCA all-region honors, student-athletes must rank in the top-five in an individual event, or the top-three in a relay event in their region. Wooster competes in the Great Lakes region.
