Sophomore Carolyn Webster earned a pair of All-Ohio certificates, while classmate Jacob Denbeaux added one as well as The College of Wooster placed 12th on the women's side and 15th in the men's standings at the Div. III All-Ohio Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Selby Stadium in Delaware, Ohio.

Webster earned a pair of second-place finishes and now has three All-Ohio certificates for her career. The sophomore opened the day with a career-best 18 feet, 3.25 inches in the long jump, and later cleared 5 feet 5.25 inches in the high jump, with both measurements currently ranking in the top-20 in Div. III.

On the men's side, Denbeaux finished second in the 1500 meters with his time of 4:05.99 ranking just over a second faster than the winning time. Notable, the All-Ohio honor marked Denbeaux's second for his career.

Sticking with the men, sophomore Jack Petrecca cleared an outdoor season-best 6 feet, 2 inches in the high jump, and that garnered a fifth-place finish.

Shifting to the track, sophomore Brian Lief's 1:59.13 placed him eighth in the 800 meters while the 4x100 relay consisting of sophomores Antonio Bailey, Jordan Dennis, and Justin Fox, and first-year Austin Hamlett just missed scoring with a ninth-place time of 44.60, but the quartet did win its section at the meet.

Senior Taryn Szalay posted a seventh-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (15.84), while first-year sister Regan Szalay clocked in at 1:00.86 in the 400 meters, good for an eighth-place showing.

Wooster had a strong day in relays as junior Mackenzie Kellar, sophomore Emani Kelley, Regan Szalay, and first-year Akwia Tilton's 4x440 time of 4:08.50 held up for eighth, while first-year Korri Palmer, senior Kennedy Payne, Taryn Szalay, and Tilton missed scoring in the 4x100 by three-hundredths of a second.

In field action, junior Elizabeth Obi logged an eighth-place finish in the triple jump with a measurement of 34 feet, 6.75 inches, 3.25 inches ahead of sophomore Mallory Crane, who placed ninth.

Ohio Wesleyan University led the 17-team field with 134.5 points in the men's standings, and 111 points on the women's side. Wooster logged 22 points in the women's standings, and 12.5 on the men's side.

Wooster is back in action at the Kenyon Invitational on Saturday, April 22.
